Once there was a big fat boy walking down the long road with his brother. Of coarse he hated his brother, so when they got home he got out some long skinny jeans and cut them. Then he got out his gumboots.then ran outside. He got out two metal poles and dug them into the ground. He put his cut jeans onto the pole then his gumboots. He ran and got a bucket and turned on the tap,after he splashed it around the fake drowning person, he hid and wated, his brother came rushing out. The trickster jumped out and shouted " fooled you"

Hi my name is dan this is my lip balm poster it shows the time,a promise,a question,a warning,alliteration,slogan and a price. The flavours are watermelon,black raspberry,bubble gum and Mallon. The twilight fair is happening on Thursday 7th of November at burnham school Our class is selling lip balm and cushions.

The 100wc

Last night there was a strange shiny piece of glass that I found on my front lawn. That night there was a terrible cracking thunder storm. The next morning I looked out my shiny white window, and then I saw a bright light. The piece of glass was in red and orange flames. I told my mum she hurried outside to put out the fire. I saw the glass was destroyed anyway it was only glass. That day I found a diamond in the ground where the glass was. I treated it really well and was famous for owning 1,000,000 dollars.

Storm City

Last Tuesday the 10th of September Canterbury was simply caned by a brutal storm. From 8pm till early the next morning extreme winds howled,lightning struck and thunder rolled in all over the province. Wednesday morning sleepy residents awoke to find trees strewn and snapped like twigs,power lines down,crushed cars and caravans tipped over. A local resident Jacob said" it was horrid". Burnham camp was affected with roads closed, power lines on houses and trees. Locals are still cleaning up.

The cultural festival

Yesterday night we went to the cultural festival to do kapa haka. Burnham school was first on stage. First we did toia mai, then the boys came through and did the toia mai haka, then the senior boys did their haka, then did ma te kahu kura.


After we just went and relaxed watching the ather schools. My favourite part was the haka.

To nights the night

Tonights the night I have butterflies in my poor little tum tum, we are performing at the CBS Arena for the Cultural Festival.

I think I might be sick I feel so so nervous I am really exited but also scared because there is like 2000 people there.

I am going to be as loud as I can, its going to be so fun.

My literacy goal is to use speech marks correctly in my writing and include them in my stories.

My maths goal is to recall my x7 and x9 tables quickly and accurately.
I will practise the times table test at home, and write the tables down. Before school I can use the iPad and play on the Maths apps.

My values based goal (achievement) is to perform really well at the Cultural Festival.

As I went to get my dog from the big lawn, the rich creamy blue paint peeled off as the rusty gate creaked open. I froze my blood rushing my heart pumping loud.


I got my dog, he's a very tame dog and he's a border collie, black and white.


I went for a walk down the long road, up a steep squiggly hill, and along a gravel road to get someone to fix the gate. He looked closely and said "it needs new hinges". He put some nice new shiny silver hinges on. It was all done with.

We were living peacefully in our house. When crash! We felt a massive earthquake we raced outside .we saw nothing until smash!we saw a giant crieture rising out of the ground then smash!smash!2 more blobs rose out of the ground. The whole thing had rose out of ground. The 2 bits on the sides started glowing then turned into giant claws.Then went to destroy the city.I raced after it with a shrink ray. I fired at it,it started to get smaller and smaller then was so small it died .I said goodbye you.

Once I went to my friends house we went outside , afew minutes later a giant bee came over and started dropping apples on us. Lots of apples dropped on my arm .suddenly the pain in my arm started .the bee kept dropping apples on us.Until their whole back lawn was filled with 5 layers of apples. We had to eat our way out. We got out and had afternoon tea and after that played outside. I went home one hour later and mum took me to the doctor and I was fine. We went back home in the car.

This term in Room 3 we learned about Multiple Intelligences. There are 8 different intelligences which are the different ways that people are 'smart'.
I completed a survey and graphed my results below so you can see the areas that I think are my strengths.

On Easter morning we had a Easter egg hunt around camp .they were in the tractor ,gun,fire pole, on the foot path it was so fun.

Goal Setting Term 1

My literacy goal is to broaden my vocabulary.
I will find meanings for words I'm unsure of in the dictionary. I will choose a big range of books on different topics to read at home.

My numeracy goal is memorise my 3 and 4 times tables.
I will practice at home and during maths time. I will sing them, write them down, ask people at home to test me. I will play the multiplication games on the website.

My third goal is to get faster at running.
I will run around the lawn at home and the playground at school.
